I’ve realized that not all blog posts need to be lengthy and provide 10 tricks or 7 things that I’ve learned. Sometimes when I find a kick-ass life hack I want to share it with you all, my squad, immediately. In full transparency, I’ve only been doing this for a week and it’s changed my freaking life. Why is something this obvious not something I’ve done before? Here’s my simple trick on how to lose weight and have better skin.

I know what you’re thinking, no this isn’t some crazy diet and I’m not going to tell you to cut out dairy or go vegan. If you’ve already done these things – congrats, let me know how it’s going. I’m still struggling with meatless Mondays but you know, baby steps.
Wanna know what the worst thing is? It’s when you are morbidly exhausted after a long day and after reading my post on why you absolutely, 100%, no matter what need to wash your face at night (and not use a makeup wipe) you know that you have to wash your face and brush your teeth. But it’s midnight, you need to get up at 7 or even 6:30 and even if you went to sleep this very second – you’d still be short a few hours of snoozing. But you do it because you know better. Right? Screw exhaustion, I can cover up my dark eye circles, but I’ll be damned if I break out again.
The trick is so freaking simple. Get ready for bed at 9:30 PM. That’s it. When you’re done eating for the day, head to the bathroom and remove your makeup, wash your face, and brush your teeth. This way you will ensure that your skin is clean every night before bed, you’ll have time to apply that skincare regimen you know you should be doing, and you won’t snack anymore because you’ve already cleaned your teeth for the day. That’s what I like to call a win/win/win.

I know that it’s so simple. You probably already knew that you should be doing this because heck, I did too. But sometimes we need a friendly reminder and this is my gentle nudge to remind you to wash your face and avoid the late-night snacking.
