SANDESTIN TRAVEL GUIDE

A few weeks ago, I was invited as a guest of the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Miramar Beach, Florida to come spend 4 days on their gorgeous property with 6 of the most incredible bloggers. I couldn’t say “yes!” fast enough! I was so excited for the opportunity to get away and beach life is exactly what I needed. It was easy to trade in the Atlanta rain for crisp beach air and white sand beaches. The Hilton Sandestin Resort has been recognized with the Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating and has been named one of the ‘Top 20 Florida Golf Resorts’ and I can easily see why. My experience was far better than I ever imagined – they truly rolled out the red carpet for us and you absolutely have to stay here the next time you head to Sandestin. Here’s what we did:

Simple 5 Ingredient Trail-mix You Can Make In 3 Minutes

I try to make my own snacks so I know what goes in them. It’s a little more effort, but barely, and I can feel better knowing there isn’t any added sugar or sodium. Whenever I make a trail mix I usually use a few of my favorite things. The worst thing is getting a store-bought mix that has raisins (that you think are chocolate) or other things that you just don’t like. Fill it with your favorites so you can enjoy every bite. Here is my recipe for my homemade trail mix…

The 6 Best Things You Can Do For Your Home

I’ve always been interested in interiors, but it wasn’t until I discovered HGTV that I noticed how much investing in your home can change your life.
You know when you watch House Hunters and every single person says “I want an Open Floorplan” and you silently beat your head on your wood table thinking “duh! everyone does!” Well, the flip side of having an extremely open floor plan (I mean kitchen, dining, and living room altogether.) is that you get very little wall space and…

Why You Deserve to Cheat

I’ve never been good at diets. It’s the basic dilemma that as soon as it’s off the table – that’s what I immediately crave. Fitness experts and dietitians have been throwing around the word “lifestyle change” for years and while there is some merit in that – it’s not easy to just wake up one morning and say “hey, I think I’ll be vegan today! Sounds like a good lifestyle change!” My natural instincts are more like “I Need Burger Now – extra cheese please!” – in my Wreck-It-Ralph voice.

If eating properly is a lifestyle change, do you ever get to cheat? Moreover, is it actually healthy to cheat? Truth is that mentally, cheating on your diet allows you to have some space and something to look forward to. One of the biggest issues with dieting…

MY LA TRAVEL GUIDE

Last week, Sahir and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary in LA. We’ve never been there before and after visiting San Diego & San Francisco it had been on our list. We took advantage of the long weekend and headed to La La Land (I appropriately watched the movie for the first time on the plane ride here) to see that the city had to offer. I have to admit, it was a lot more spread out than I imagined, but we were able to see everything from Venice Beach to West Hollywood and in between. Here’s my travel guide for what to eat, do, and see in LA!

Atlanta Staycation at the Crowne Plaza Midtown

Unlike many Atlanta residents, I’m lucky enough to call the city my native home. I was born in the city and grew up in a northern suburb. I went to college at the University of Georgia and moved to the city with my husband (& now puppy!) It’s not uncommon that when someone lives in the same place their entire life, they get antsy and eager to move to another place. I, however…
