Finishing Touches with Budget Blinds

This post is created in partnership with Budget Blinds. Thanks for always supporting the brands that we work with.

When we bought and designed our home last year, I knew that I wanted a double story living room with rounded windows and beautiful natural light. My mom’s first home that she purchased and I grew up in had a double story living room and these tall cathedral windows. It felt grand, it felt like home.

It was a huge selling point of the house, and honestly – it’s my favorite part to this day. I love waking up every morning and letting the natural sunlight pour into our home.

However, the other side of beautiful large windows are privacy and security concerns. I didn’t want to add blinds and ruin the look, but the idea of climbing up there to open and close 20ft curtains was exhausting.

That’s when I knew we had to make the leap.

Motorized drapery was the only option and I needed a custom solution. We decided to do two rooms in our home, one on the main floor and the second with a blackout liner for Mila’s room. Enter, Budget Blinds.

I got a few quotes from some of the “leaders” in the space and it was disheartening how much they were charging. I had a few friends use Budget Blinds in the past for their homes and when I did a little research and found out they do motorized drapery I knew I had to reach out.

We worked with our local team at Budget Blinds Duluth in Georgia and the entire process was seamless from start to finish. We started with an in home consultation, chose the fabrics and materials for the drapery, and got an exact quote.

Once approved, it was a 6-8 week waiting period and then install day! I was so surprised at how professional the entire team was. They showed up on time and were so respectful of our home and making sure they didn’t mark up the walls. Mila and my dog Theo were at home during the install and it didn’t mess with their schedules either.

There were quite literally thousands of options to choose from, but I used the expertise of my consultation team. In the end we chose the Signature Series
light-filtering wave drapery for the living room and Horizons blackout pinch
pleat drapes for Mila’s room.

My favorite part? Budget Blinds motorized drapery comes with a smart app that allows me to schedule the drapes opening and closing in both my living room and Mila’s room.

My little girl gets to go to sleep in the dark and wake up to sunlight in her room – and it’s kinda magical.

I highly recommend scheduling a consultation with Budget Blinds if you’re looking for blinds, drapes, shades or shutters. The customer service of my local team in Duluth was absolutely fantastic, but if you aren’t local to the area don’t worry. Budget Blinds has locations all over the US and Canada.
