One of the things that I hear the most is “You’re a blogger,  I should do that! I love free stuff!” Most of the time my response is something along the lines of, “Blogging is great! It’s a lot of work, but very rewarding!” There is so much that goes into running your own brand, that you really don’t understand until you are in the roots of it. I aim to blog 5 days a week and usually meet my goal (with an occasional 4 in the mix.) Even my closest friends are shocked when they find out that I spend 1.5-2 hours on my blog on a daily basis — that is, after the outfits are styled and photos are shot. So you’re looking it about ~20 hours a week. I treat my blog like a part time job – there are deadlines, contracts, and lots of spreadsheets. Bloggers wear multiple hats. We are web designers, marketers, brand consultants, photographers, graphic designers, stylists, and content editors. My blog is a 2 person show (my husband / photographer is very supportive) and it can certainly get overwhelming at times (remember this post about my biggest blogging struggle?) However, one of my greatest accomplishments is that I am sole editor-in-chief of my brand. Simply Sabrina has built partnerships with reputable brands because of my voice and my work ethic. Blogging is my passion project, what’s yours?
